Coast Sister Stikes Again
I just had to show off this super cute apron that Coast Sister mailed me yesterday. Her grandmother made it for me...and I LOVE how it perfectly fits me. SEASHELLS!!! Coast Sister must have told her that I'm a big beach bum.

SPT- Tackle A Very Unpleasant Cleaning Task
There's many unpleasant tasks that I've been putting off, so that part was easy. Actually doing the task...not so much.
My husband was cleaning house the other day and was getting frustrated because he was running out of places to put our clothes. (we have 4 closets in the house) So I started sorting through my clothes. Donation pile. Winter pile. Throw away pile. Suddenly there is a lot of closet space.

My second task was to digitalize some old photos. I've been meaning to scan them for some time now but have never gotten around to it. Thanks to my friend Katie, who loaned me her scanner, that's what I've just started working on.

Perhaps soon I'll post some old photos. Hope that you all found motivation to complete some tasks.

SPT-Bring the Indoors Outdoors For Summer
This weekend my summer work party- The "Romp in the Swamp" took place OUTDOORS. I thought this was an excellent idea for my SPT. At work we're always stuck indoors and it was nice to get outside with all my co-workers and let loose. I think I danced a little too much, and therefore got a bit too sweaty. But it was a blast.

I Guess I Just Miss My Friend
I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.
Red, The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
So yesterday, I had a women check into the hotel that was from San Francisco. Her and I started talking about San Fran and I told her how much I loved it. She asked why I had visited there, and I responded," One of my best friends lives near there."
After I said that, I started thinking about how I've missed my best friend A LOT lately. It's been a majority my fault. If this were a long distance relationship... instead of friendship than she would have definately broken up with me long ago. I've been busy and haven't put a whole lot of effort into our friendship lately. And friendships do take effort....especially long distance ones.
I guess I've taken it for granted lately and it's been on the back burner....and that's just awful. She definately means more to me than an afterthought.
I miss our chats, our confessions, our laughs, our drama, and just us being goofy.
So DATEGIRL (Coast Sister) I am going to start trying to make a better effort. I love ya and I'm sorry that I have been neglecting you. I'm happy that Match and your numerous other friends have been taking care of you. I hope to talk to you soon and catch up on everything that's been going on in our lives.
Until then, know that you are in my thoughts and I'm definately thinking "WINE AND SKYPE" night.
